Privacy Policy
In short. Your freezer inventory is stored only on your iPhone. There is no account and no Freezer Map server, and the App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. Your inventory leaves the device only when you send it yourself, as an exported file or in an email to support. The App does go online to verify purchases (Apple and RevenueCat) and to check for app updates (Expo); these connections carry technical and purchase information, never your inventory.
1. Who we are
This policy describes how the Freezer Map app for iPhone (the “App”) handles information. The App is published by the Freezer Map developer (“we”, “us”). Contact: prodocik@gmail.com.
2. Data you enter stays on your device
Your freezers, storage places, products, packages and their codes, the history of what you added and took, the shopping list, reminder settings and other settings are stored in a local SQLite database inside the App on your iPhone.
- You do not create an account, and the App does not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We do not run a server for the App, and the App never uploads your inventory to us or to anyone else. We cannot see, access or restore it.
- If iCloud Backup or computer backups are turned on for your iPhone, iOS may include the App’s data in your device backup. Such backups are handled by Apple under your Apple settings.
3. Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat
Freezer Map Plus (monthly and annual subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; we never see your payment details or your Apple Account.
To confirm whether Plus is active, the App uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives:
- an anonymous app user ID generated by the RevenueCat SDK on your device (it is not your name, email or Apple Account);
- information about your App Store purchases and receipts for the App;
- technical information that the SDK sends with its requests, such as device model, iOS version, app version, preferred languages, App Store country, Apple’s identifier for vendor (IDFV) and the IP address of the connection.
The names of your products, freezers or places and any other inventory data are never sent to RevenueCat. We use purchase information only to unlock Plus in the App.
4. App updates
To deliver fixes, the App checks for and downloads updates to its own code from Expo’s update service (EAS Update, operated by 650 Industries, Inc.). These requests contain technical information only: platform, app runtime version, update channel, a random installation identifier created by the update library (not linked to your name, email or Apple Account), the IP address of the connection and, if the App previously failed to start, a short technical error message. They never contain your inventory data.
5. Notifications
The weekly reminder (a Plus feature) is a local notification scheduled on your iPhone. There is no push-notification server. The reminder text is generic and does not include the names of your products. The App asks for notification permission only when you turn the reminder on, and you can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings.
6. Export, import and label printing
- Export. A JSON backup (all freezers, packages and history) or a CSV of the current inventory is created on your device only when you tap Share, and goes only where you choose in the iOS share sheet. Temporary copies are removed from the App’s cache the next time the App starts.
- Import. The App reads only the backup file you pick in the iOS file picker. Before your data is replaced, a copy of the current data is saved on your device.
- Label printing (a Plus feature). Labels are generated as a PDF on your device and handed to the iOS Print or Share dialog. The App itself does not send them to any third party; what happens next depends on the printer or destination you choose.
7. No analytics, advertising or tracking
The App contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs and does not send usage statistics to us or to anyone else. It does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not sell or share your data.
8. Emails to support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to answer you and do not add you to any mailing list.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
- To erase everything the App stores, open Settings in the App and choose Delete data from this device. Deleting the App also removes its data from your iPhone.
- Deleting data does not cancel a subscription; manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
- Files you exported stay wherever you saved or sent them.
- Purchase records kept by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their own policies. If you have a question about them, contact us.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
11. Changes to this policy
If the way the App handles information changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
